Payment Rules (16)
★ Hide COD for Large Orders
Hide Cash on Delivery when the cart subtotal is $500 or more. Reduces refusal risk and chargebacks on high-value COD orders.
★ Hide COD for High-Risk Customers
Hide Cash on Delivery for customers tagged 'high-risk' — for example repeat refusers or serial returners. Tag customers in Shopify admin to activate.
★ Hide COD for Guest Checkout
Only show Cash on Delivery to logged-in customers. Guests must create an account (or pay online), which deters fake COD orders.
★ Hide Express Pay for Pre-orders
Hide Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay when the cart contains products tagged 'preorder', so customers see pre-order terms before paying with one tap.
★ Rename COD to Show Fee
Rename 'Cash on Delivery' to 'Cash on Delivery (+$5 handling fee)' so customers see the surcharge before choosing it. Edit the name to match your fee.
★ Show Preferred Payment First
Move your preferred payment method to the top of the list to steer customers toward it. Edit the name to match the gateway you want to promote.
Minimum Order for COD
Hide Cash on Delivery when the cart subtotal is $50 or less. Small COD orders often aren't worth the collection overhead.
Hide COD for Selected Countries
Turn off Cash on Delivery for shipping destinations where you can't collect payment. Starts disabled — add your country codes, then enable.
Hide COD for Specific Zip Codes
Turn off Cash on Delivery for zip or postal codes with high refusal rates. Supports wildcards like 100*. Starts disabled — add your zip patterns, then enable.
Hide COD for Bulky Products
Hide Cash on Delivery when the cart contains products tagged 'oversized'. Bulky COD deliveries are costly when refused at the door.
Hide Buy Now Pay Later for Large Orders
Hide Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, and Sezzle when the cart subtotal is $1,000 or more — above most BNPL approval limits, where declines frustrate customers.
Hide Buy Now Pay Later for Gift Cards
Hide Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, and Sezzle when the cart contains products tagged 'gift-card'. Most BNPL providers prohibit gift card purchases.
★ Wholesale Customers Pay by Invoice
Hide card payments for customers tagged 'wholesale' so B2B buyers use your manual methods like bank transfer or invoice. Edit the name to match your card gateway.
Set Expectations for Bank Transfer
Rename 'Bank Deposit' to explain that orders ship after the payment clears. Fewer 'where is my order?' emails from bank transfer customers.
Hide PayPal for Large Orders
Hide PayPal when the cart subtotal is $500 or more, steering big orders to lower-fee methods with stronger chargeback protection. Edit the name to match any high-fee gateway.
Move COD to the Bottom
Keep Cash on Delivery available but move it to the end of the list, nudging customers toward prepaid methods and reducing your COD share.
Shipping Rules (15)
★ Hide Paid Shipping When Free Is Available
The #1 shipping rule: once a customer qualifies for free shipping, hide all paid options so free shipping is the obvious (and only) standard choice.
★ No Express Shipping for Bulky Items
Hide express and expedited options when the cart contains products tagged 'oversized' — items that can only ship by ground or freight.
★ Exclude Bulky Items from Free Shipping
Hide free shipping options when the cart contains products tagged 'oversized', so heavy items always ship at a paid rate.
★ Add Delivery Time to Standard Shipping
Rename 'Standard' to 'Standard (3-5 business days)' so customers see the delivery window at checkout. Clear ETAs reduce support tickets.
★ Show Free Shipping First
Move free shipping options to the top of the list so customers see the $0 option before any paid rate. One click — no option names to configure.
★ Free Shipping Only Over $75
Hide paid shipping rates once the cart subtotal reaches your free shipping threshold, so qualifying customers see free shipping as the only standard option. Adjust the $75 threshold to match your store.
Perishables Ship Express Only
Hide economy and standard options when the cart contains products tagged 'perishable', so food, plants, and frozen goods always ship fast.
Hide Express for Remote Zip Codes
Hide express options for zip or postal codes your carrier can't serve quickly. Supports wildcards like 902*. Starts disabled — add your zip patterns, then enable.
Hide Express for Selected Countries
Hide express options for destinations where expedited delivery isn't actually possible. Starts disabled — add your country codes, then enable.
Hide Shipping Rates Over $50
Hide any shipping option costing more than $50 — usually mis-quoted carrier rates that scare customers away at checkout. Adjust the threshold to fit your store.
Holiday Shipping Cutoff
Hide slower options during your holiday cutoff window when they can no longer deliver in time. Starts disabled — set your dates and option names, then enable.
Wholesale Orders Ship Freight Only
Hide parcel options for customers tagged 'wholesale' so B2B orders only see your freight or LTL rates. Edit the option names to match your parcel rates.
Hide Express for Pre-orders
Hide express options when the cart contains products tagged 'preorder' — customers shouldn't pay for rush shipping on items that ship at release.
VIP Customers See Free Shipping Only
Hide paid rates for customers tagged 'vip' so your best customers always check out with free shipping. Requires a free shipping rate configured in your Shopify shipping settings.
Add Order Cutoff to Express Shipping
Rename 'Express' to show your same-day dispatch cutoff, like 'Express (order by 2 PM for same-day dispatch)'. Edit the time to match your warehouse.
